Koji has been one of our most reliable starters, but he hasn’t been able to go deep into games, so you have to wonder if it would be better to put him in the pen. Our starting rotation has been doing a lot better lately, and the young arms deserve to keep proving themselves.
You know that a lot of these young guys will start making mistakes and get knocked around early into games. It will be a good feeling to know that Koji would be able to come in for long relief to get the game back in control.
Honestly, either way is a win-win situation with Koji. If we bring him back as a starter we have a reliable pitcher that will usually keep us in the game till the 6th. If he goes to the pen, he will give us needed depth, and take some pressure off the young starters knowing if they mess up, Koji is in the bullpen to come in and clean up the mess.
