MASNsports.com The video chat will kick off the network’s exclusive broadcast of “A Shortstop in China,” an hour-long documentary about Ripken’s first diplomatic trip as an American Public Diplomacy Envoy for the State Department. The documentary begins around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8th immediately after Orioles Xtra and will re-air throughout the week.
Be sure to check this out, should be good. I always loved Cal, and is my second favorite Oriole behind Brooks Robinson. Outside of my love for Cal, this really helps the Orioles. He is exposing the game to the huge China community, and the first MLB team they will hear is the Orioles, as I’m sure he will mention us. Hopefully, in a few years when these kids grow up and learn the game of baseball, we will be on top of the lists of teams for them to sign with.
Update: I just finished watching, and it was great to see all the O’s hats, jerseys, and shirts. I’m sure this really helped our marketing in China, great news.

I have watched this twice.
I enjoyed it very much and love that I can fast-forward the commercials…
I heard Cal speak a lot this week prior to this and I recall him saying we will get to see him and BJ in new light…
Well, Cal myabe. BJ smiled once on the show…and I have always digged that about Surhoff, his intensity.
BJ was really good with the kids surprisingly, he always seemed boring to me.
