O’s Sign Eaton

by Orioles General

The Orioles signed pitcher Adam Eaton today to a minor league contract. Eaton was released from the Philadelphia a few days ago with a not so intriguing statistics last season. Eaton went  4-8 with a 5.80 ERA in 21 games last season, which is not much of a upgrade to anybody on our team, let alone a 31 year old. This deal is pretty much a insurance policy if any of our starting pitchers go down. And if Orioles recent history proves us right, its bound to happened.

Overall it was a pretty good veteran pickup with a cheap price tag. With only about 2 weeks into training camp, Brad Hennessey and Rich Hill already complaining of elbow problems, won’t be far fetched he will be a starter in two months. Hasn’t been much of a successful spring training so far with our young pitching staff.
